Dr. Bryan N. Butler has been a member of the Buffalo Medical Group, PC since 2000, and is certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.
He earned his medical degree summa cum laude at Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Urena, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Dr. Butler completed his general surgery specialty training in the Yale University Affiliated Surgical Residency Program at Bridgeport Hospital in Connecticut. He also received additional training in colon and rectal surgery during a fellowship at the University at Buffalo (UB) School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and UB-affiliated hospitals.
Dr. Butler has a special interest in laparoscopic assisted colon and rectal surgery, anorectal physiology, surgery for ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s Disease, and surgery for rectal cancer preserving the anal sphincter. In addition, he has lectured extensively and conducted numerous training sessions for surgeons on the topic of laparoscopic assisted colon and rectal surgery.
Dr. Butler primarily admits patients to Sisters of Charity Hospital and occassionally admits patients to Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. The Buffalo Surgery Center is his main location for colonoscopies in addition to a monthly colonoscopy schedule at Sisters and Mount Saint Mary Hospital (Lewiston, NY).
