Why did you decide to go into medicine?
As a kid, I would go to the hospital on rounds with my Dad, who was an internal medicine doctor. The calming bedside manner and the careful care he provided were so profound; I knew right then and there that I wanted to follow in his footsteps to connect and build long lasting and meaningful relationships, while providing life improvement for patients.
When I’m not working you can find me
Spending time with my wife and cat Sunny, travelling, and rooting on Cleveland sports (Cavaliers, Guardians, Browns). I will say though Buffalo sports are infectious, and I am starting to enjoy the Sabres and Bills along with the community.
Favorite/most memorable patient moment
I don’t want to limit this question to one moment, but rather what I enjoy. I really enjoy when we make meaningful changes in patients that improve their quality of life. Also, given my academic background, I also love when patients have their “Aha” moments they may have after we discuss a lifestyle change or explaining a disease process.
Favorite book or movie
My favorite movies are Coming to America and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. As for books, Harry Potter was a childhood favorite and continues to be to this day!
